Watch jewelry designer Lauren Addison share her diamond self-purchase story:
“I would say I was first introduced to diamonds through my mother, like any other girl. I would play in her jewelry box and always gravitated right towards the diamonds.
The first piece of diamond jewelry I purchased for myself was my pinkie ring, which I made about nine years ago. I haven’t taken it off since. I was financially independent and at a point where I really just felt I deserved it and wanted to treat myself.
Diamonds are an investment but this is a piece that can be passed down. It’s something you can wear every day. It’s not like a handbag that’s going to be worn and out of season in a year.”
